B-17 Flying Fortress

The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was the first mass-produced, four-engine heavy bomber. It is still one of the most recognised aeroplanes ever built. It was most widely used for daylight strategic bombings of German industrial targets during World War II as part of the United States Eighth Air Force.

Well the 2008 Warbird has come and gone. We had approximately 46 registered pilots for the event. The wind was not to good to us. It was very windy for early flying. Everyone seemed to do a lot of visiting and telling tales. Saturday the wind seemed to die down some and flying was done by some of our good pilots. BB was able to get a flight on his B29. Kevin Theole did a lot of great flying for our spectators with his jets. We had about 12 to 14 jets flying. All in all we had a good flyin and hope to see you next year.

A special thanks you to our club members and B. B. Weber who helped put on the show.
